Wolfgang Bittner [ AT ] is a visual artist working in the field video, photography and installation. Originally starting from a painting background, he became more and more interested in the possibilities of software- and time based art.

Besides the production of photographic prints, installations and short films, he has been realizing video projections for theatre and audiovisual live performances.

He holds a Mag. art diploma [ Kunstuniversitaet Linz, Experimentelle Gestaltung ] and a MA in ArtScience [ Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague ].

DE

Wolfgang Bittner [ AT ] arbeitet im Spannungsfeld zwischen bildender Kunst und neuen Medien. Dabei bilden Fragestellungen zum Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Technologie, sowie visueller Wahrnehmung und Repräsentation einen konzeptuellen Rahmen. Im Prozess von Zergliederung und Neuordnung der konstituierenden Elemente eines Mediums entstehen neue Bezüge im Verhältnis zwischen Werk, Welt und Betrachter.

Präsentation von fotografischen Prints, Installationen und Videoarbeiten auf zahlreichen Ausstellungen und Festivals im In- und Ausland.

Studium in Experimentelle Gestaltung [ Kunstuniversität Linz / Mag. art 2006 ], Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaften [ Universität Wien ], Medieninformatik [ TU Wien ], ArtScience [ Royal Academy of Arts, Den Haag / MA 2009 ]. Seit 2009 tätig als freier Künstler. Lebt und arbeitet in Den Haag | Niederlande.
